The assessment process

The assessment process will give us the opportunity to assess your skills and ability to perform the role of a Trainee General Manager (TGM) against set criteria applicable to the position (please see capabilities below). As part of the process you will undergo the following:

  1. Completion of application form
  2. A paper screening of application form and CV
  3. Telephone interview
  4. Assessment centre

As part of the assessment process you will need to undergo a telephone screening interview. This will be set-up once your on-line application form has been received and successfully screened by our recruitment team. If you are successful in the telephone interview then you will be invited to attend one of our assessment centres.

Please be aware that if you are invited to attend an assessment centre, it is essential that you visit one of our Mecca clubs prior to attending the centre, as the knowledge you gain will enable you to successfully complete one of the excercises on the day.

To find your nearest club please click on this link to the interactive map.

The assessment process has been designed to assess three capabilities that have been shown to be important for management roles within Mecca. These will be assessed through a group disccusion exercise, a competency-based interview and a presentation that you will need to prepare on the day. The competencies we will be assessing are:

Further to the above capabilities the following three personal attributes will also be assessed. These are essentially the underlying behaviours needed to perform in the role of the TGM.

We are running seven assessment centres throughout the UK. If your application is successful you will be invited to attend one of these assessment centres. The details below will give you an idea of what to expect on the day, location information and the timetable on the day. Please note you are required to bring a passport or UK work permit if appropriate with you on the day of the assessment.
