"Before joining Mecca I worked as a senior manager abroad for a tour company. This was a thoroughly challenging and dynamic role and when I finally made the decision to return home, I wanted a job in the UK that could still give me that. Being a GMD with Mecca has certainly given me that!"

"I have been on the programme for 10 months now and have now been given my own Club which I am temporarily in charge of. As part of my development I am also enrolled on the Mecca Management Academy which will give me a management qualification at the end of the training period. It's challenging - but it's a fantastic way to meet other trainee managers and can really help with your understanding of your the business. This is just one example of the tools available for you to develop, though there is no replacement for on the job learning! "

"I really enjoy working for Mecca as I have been learning on the job and have been able to apply my hospitality experience of nearly 10 years since coming onboard as a TGM. You really can drive your career here, it's the classic small/big business. It is Large in terms of turnover but still small enough to make your mark. The Area Manager and senior management are all there looking out for you, tracking your progress, but you need to be determined and ambitious to succeed. If you want a traditional 9-5 job, then Mecca is not for you. You also need to be flexible - so far I've worked in and been based at 2 clubs in Dewsbury and Sheffield. However, I have also worked as a duty/ relief manager in 4 others within the Yorkshire area."

"I've just commenced the Mecca Management Academy and am enjoying the challenge. It's a structured and balanced course mixing practical and theoretical work. At the end of the course I will attend a graduation day and be presented with a National Diploma.
